IF THERE'S A PROBLEM DON E's GOT THE SOLUTION 3.17.2K11

Wholesale prices rise 1.6 pct. due to biggest jump in food costs in more than 36 years.

F as in Fat: How Obesity Threatens America's Future.

What is wrong with these statements and these pictures?  I know when I studied  Economics 101, it was taught to me the laws of Demand and Supply.

Supply and demand is perhaps one of the most fundamental concepts of economics and it is the backbone of a market economy. Demand refers to how much (quantity) of a product or service is desired by buyers. The quantity demanded is the amount of a product people are willing to buy at a certain price; the relationship between price and quantity demanded is known as the demand relationship. Supply represents how much the market can offer. The quantity supplied refers to the amount of a certain good producers are willing to supply when receiving a certain price. The correlation between price and how much of a good or service is supplied to the market is known as the supply relationship. Price, therefore, is a reflection of supply and demand. --From Investopedia

So it is a given, A LAW OF NATURE , Don E's Solution therefore is You Fat People and you know who you are (Me I'm Just Chubby),  QUIT EATING SO DANG MUCH!

Yes, quit frequenting the Piggley-Wiggley, Publix, Safeway, Winn-Dixie, McDonald's, Burger King, Arby's, Weezers House Of Ribs, Golden Coral, Stuff Ya' Till Ya' Puke All You Can Eat Joints, You get my drift...

Lower the DEMAND for Wholesale, Retail, Mr. Green Jeans Farm and there will be such a pent up SUPPLY that Food Prices will not only stagnate, but FALL as well.  No matter what the price of Oil is.

Instead of steppin' to KFC, step from the scale to the treadmill.  Do the most difficult exercise in the World....Push yourself away from the table.

  3. @Gina--

Fabulous idea with the vegi garden(clap-clap). For those without a green thumb, use your Farmers Market--Fruit Stand for those of you's in San Fran, LA and Zoo York.

That way you won't be tempted by the processed fat foods, or the Fried Chicken just coming out of the fryer in the Deli Section.

    HSPD!

  8. If the prices on all processed, packaged foods were raised people would have to learn to cook with what nature provided. We'd have to chew and taste real food.

When we cook from scratch, we know how many cups of sugar go into the twinkies we just made.

    Love ya, Don!

First of all, Thanks for stoppin' by. Love right back atcha'.

I like your point but let me put my Economics Hat back on...What you suggest is price fixing and that is a detriment to a Free Market Economy.
